PUBLICATION VOGUE: Inside GOOP Lab: Gwyneth Paltrow’s first-ever retail store , Architectural Digest : GOOP New Retail Space
Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand, Goop, which started in 2008 as a weekly email newsletter, eventually has grown into a vibrant e-commerce platform, a quarterly print publication with Condé Nast, wellness summits, and numerous pop-up shops. Later, Goop devotees could rejoice with the opening of Goop's first permanent store, Goop Lab, at Los Angeles's Brentwood Country Mart.
The 1,300-square-foot Goop Lab is a permanent shop that embodies the Goop brand, offering a familiar, welcoming, and natural experience. It's an immersive space for its discerning goop.com followers and the close-knit So-Cal community.
Guests enter through double doors into a mudroom and greenhouse adorned with plants, rich wood floors, and a skylight that floods the space with natural light. Antique orangerie windows and an outdoor porch with vintage stone tiles enhance the inviting atmosphere.
The kitchen, central to Goop’s cooking demos, features dusty grey cabinets and brass details.
The apothecary, a wellness and beauty hub, showcases a grand octagonal vanity with matching silver and custom étagères, complemented by blush pink tiles and palettes.
The living room is whimsical, with a sense of ease and accessibility. It features a magnetic system in crème and white enamel to display Goop’s evolving fashion collection. A cast bronze branch fixture, vintage mantle, daybed and bar cart from Roman and Williams' Founding Collection, David Wiseman chandelier, and mid-century vintage chairs create a space that is both fantastical and inviting. Warm neutral wall coverings enhance its transcendent quality.
